The chemical structure is AHK-Cu²⁺, with the formula C₁₅H₂₄CuN₆O₄. As a copper peptide, its core value lies in its ability to act as a small-molecule signal that promotes the growth and differentiation of various cells, particularly demonstrating significant effects on hair follicle biology and dermal fibroblast activity.

Functionally, AHK-Cu is part of the same copper peptide family as GHK-Cu, but it is better known for its specific research in stimulating hair growth, making it a promising hair growth promoter."

  • "1.Promotes Hair Growth: In ex vivo human hair follicle organ culture models, AHK-Cu was observed to stimulate the elongation of hair follicles. One study reported that AHK-Cu treatment increased hair shaft elongation by over 155%. The mechanism is thought to involve stimulating the proliferation of Dermal Papilla Cells (DPCs), a key cell type for hair follicles.

  • 3.Promotes Dermal Cell Proliferation and Collagen Deposition: In vitro studies have shown that AHK-Cu stimulates the proliferation and viability of normal human dermal fibroblasts and can increase type I collagen production by up to 300% compared to controls.
