About IGF-DES
IGF-DES is a genetically engineered analogue of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), consisting of 67 amino acids. Its structural feature is the deletion of the first three amino acids at the N-terminus of native IGF-1 (glycine-proline-glutamic acid, GPE). This modification significantly reduces IGF-DES's binding affinity to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs) by approximately 100-fold, conferring substantially higher free-form biological activity than native IGF-1. The mechanism of action involves activating IGF-1 receptors (IGF-1R) to promote protein synthesis, inhibit protein degradation, enhance glucose uptake, and stimulate cell proliferation. Compared to other IGF-1 analogues, IGF-DES's most distinctive advantages are its extremely short half-life (approximately 20-30 minutes) and its super-potent receptor affinity (approximately 3-5 times that of native IGF-1). This ultra-short-acting, high-potency profile enables precise "pulsatile" local anabolic effects, making it particularly suitable for immediate post-exercise intramuscular injection to maximize myogenic effects while minimizing safety risks associated with sustained high-concentration exposure. It is typically administered via immediate post-exercise local (intramuscular) injection, 1-2 times daily.
