About IGF-DES

IGF-DES is a genetically engineered analogue of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), consisting of 67 amino acids. Its structural feature is the deletion of the first three amino acids at the N-terminus of native IGF-1 (glycine-proline-glutamic acid, GPE). This modification significantly reduces IGF-DES's binding affinity to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs) by approximately 100-fold, conferring substantially higher free-form biological activity than native IGF-1.
