About MT-2 (Melanotan 2 Acetate)
"Melanotan II (MT-2) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide and a non-selective melanocortin receptor (MCR) agonist that mimics the action of endogenous α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It is structurally related to Melanotan I (MT-1), but unlike MT-1, MT-2 is non-selective, binding to multiple melanocortin receptors including MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R. As a result, it produces not only skin tanning but also a range of systemic physiological effects.
MT-2 was initially developed as a tanning agent, but its side effect profile—inducing spontaneous erections and enhanced sexual desire—was discovered during clinical testing. The compound has never received approval from any major regulatory body (e.g., US FDA) for human use and is primarily sold through unregulated online channels."

"1.Melanogenic (Tanning) Effect: Stimulates melanin production via MC1R activation, producing a deep tan.
2.Induces Erections: In a double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study in men with organic erectile dysfunction, MT-2 produced subjectively apparent erections in 63% (12/19) of injections vs. 5% (1/21) for placebo, with a mean rigidity score of 6.9 on a 0–10 scale; mean duration of tip rigidity 80% was 45.3 minutes (vs. 1.9 for placebo). In another study of 20 men with mixed ED, 17/20 developed erections without sexual stimulation, with a mean Rigiscan tip rigidity 80% duration of 41 minutes.
3.Enhances Sexual Desire: Increased sexual desire was reported after 13/19 (68%) MT-2 doses vs. 4/21 (19%) placebo doses (P0.01).
4.Potential Antidepressant Effects: In animal models, MT-2 reversed anhedonia, inhibited body weight loss and adrenal hypertrophy, and prevented stress-induced hippocampal BDNF decline in chronic unpredictable stress paradigms.
5.Potential Appetite Suppression: MT-2 suppresses food intake in animal models, though tolerance develops within 8–12 days."
