Product profile
About Lipo-B
Lipo-B (LC120) is a lipopeptide compound formed by covalently linking a lipophilic moiety (Lipo) to a specific peptide sequence, belonging to the category of investigational immunomodulatory molecules. Its core design originates from pioneering research aimed at inducing antigen-specific immune tolerance through efficient antigen presentation. By attaching a lipophilic palmitic acid chain to the N-terminus of the peptide, the molecule effectively binds to serum albumin, prolonging its half-life and enabling targeted enrichment at antigen-presenting cells (APCs) in lymph nodes.
Main functions
"1.Efficient Targeted Antigen Presentation: In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate that its amphiphilic structure allows for more effective uptake and presentation by APCs, significantly enhancing the potency and duration of antigen-specific immunomodulatory effects, far surpassing unmodified soluble peptides.
2.Induces Antigen-Specific Immune Tolerance: In the non-obese diabetic (NOD) mouse model of type 1 diabetes (T1D), treatment with Lipo-B carrying key CD4+ T-cell epitopes effectively suppresses pathogenic T-cell activity and induces regulatory T-cell (Treg) generation, thereby significantly delaying diabetes onset and reducing incidence.
3.Delays Disease Progression in Established Models: In NOD mice that had already developed acute hyperglycemia, short-term treatment with a mixture of Lipo-B(9-23) and other β-cell antigen lipopeptides successfully delayed progression to end-stage diabetes, whereas equivalent doses of unmodified soluble peptides were entirely ineffective."
Recommended audience
"Autoimmune Disease Researchers: Scientists focused on developing antigen-specific immunotherapies (rather than broad immunosuppression) for treating or preventing autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis.
Peptide Vaccine and Immunotherapy Developers: Pharmaceutical researchers interested in chemical modification strategies, such as lipidation, to enhance peptide vaccine immunogenicity or induce immune tolerance.
